02 March Vette goes to Avery Island near the Louisiana CoastHere are some photos from my trip today to Avery Island, site of the Tabasco pepper sauce factory. The island sits atop a salt dome and features a botanical garden created by the McIlhennys, the family who owns the island and the Tabasco company. There's a pagoda with an ancient Buddha statue from China, a gift from a friend of the original Mr. McIlhenny. There's also a rookery, built in the marsh to help the snowy egrets come back from near-extinction. My lover and I have been to the island numerous times, and have encountered alligators and nutria rats about two feet long . Nothing is done to keep visitors and wildlife apart, except for signs that tell you alligators are dangerous. It is forbidden to slay either of these monsters on the island. Just as well! I asked, and was told they don't drop any Guild Wars gold when you kill them. Here is a link to information about Avery island. Then I was stung on my second day of life by a large black South Texas scorpion. My first memories are all hallucinations. .... a Mexican nurse, ...a burst of cold shimmering light, ....a voice that said, "Not yet, there is blood that needs be shed by you!" By the time the fever broke my hair was red, and has been ever since. My childhood toys were some cactus buds I loved to eat, and a bayonet I found in my father's garage. I kept it sharp, much to the regret of the coyote that tried to eat my baby pig. By the time I was 5 my pig "Pyewackett", (a javelina ) could kill a coyote without my help! I have ever walked my own path, how could it be some other way?... 22 July My Guild Wars palsAt long last I have people I can converse with about Guild Wars!
My wife has started playing in order to share in my fun. She has been playing as Zipphorah Chai, an elementalist, and as Devorah Strongwill, a ranger/necro. She took Zipphorah into post-searing at my urging, but has not liked the charrblasted landscape. So she created Devorah to run around in pre-searing. I was SHOCKED to see her raise a bone horror! She hadn't warned me she'd chosen necromancer as her second profession. Anyway, we are gonna kick some charrbutt when she gains a couple more levels, with her combo of pet lion "Latrice" and a couple of bone horrors. Maybe I'll take Putricia on some missions over the wall, and we'll have a whole horde of pets and little nasties to attack the charr invaders and drive them from our land!
My other pals are coworkers, a department head called, "Soulreaver Davin" and a frontline worker named, "Acic Blade".
We've tried a number of times to get online together, but it hasn't worked out so far 'cause our schedules make this difficult.
Once, Acic Blade and I got together, only to have the power at his house go down just as we started into the catacombs. I'm hoping to hook up again some day, maybe I'll have a weapon or two that he can use...On the other hand, Davin is way the hell past me in GW experience, so maybe he'll have an item or two for me...

01 January another picture of your mistress, Lustipants1-01-2007 I have encountered a magnificently muscular artist, who conjured my likeness by the alchemy of his paints and the sorcery of his brush. He said my presence inspired him! "Vette slays oafs" (click it) 06 September So much has happened...9-6-05As of today I'm a level 19 and a half Ranger/Warrior. I've joined my third guild, hoping to find one that is mostly adventurers instead of player vs player. So far there's been "Vettes Lovers" (nobody joined my guild), Shard of Narsil, and Wayward Slaves. My current gang is called "Knights from Heaven". There I met Doctor Beer, who lives in Israel. He has a webpage called "U2Israel" which is all about U2 and is written in Hebrew. His English is pretty good too. Maybe he will go adventuring with me, even if the others go the way of all the other PvP guilds I've encountered... 06 August Wayward SlavesLast night I was accepted into a guild called the Wayward Slaves! I shall endeavor to conduct myself as befits this guild who are ruled by nobody but themselves...There is a link to our webpage over on the right...And now we have a guildhall! There are pictures of me (in the Aug 5 album) where our sailing vessel is moored behind the hall on a moonlit night... 31 July My progress so far...Wow! I've made it as far as Druid's Overlook. It makes a difference when you join up with other adventurers instead of going it alone...Still don't have a guild, but don't really need one... 17 July Does anybody have an adventurer's guild for me?I joined a guild, Shard of Narsil, that turned out to be for Player versus Player activities, not adventuring. I don't get into PvP, so I left that guild.
I would entertain an invitation to a guild of adventurers though...

It took me several forays and the slaying of about 50 Charr to gather 4 hides, but the wench only gave me 1 fur square in exchange for these! If I didn't need her furs it would be HER hide that gets harvested! Bone HorrorAs Treena, I like to use the corpse of an enemy to animate a bone horror, which will turn and attack my other enemies. I can also use my vampiric gaze to suck the life out of those who get in my way... 14 May ...and yet another me: PadmasambhavaPadmasambhava is my Monk/Warrior persona whose mission is to heal and protect. The name is from the monk who first brought Buddhism to Tibet. Another Me: Sorceresss TreeenaTreeena is a necromancer/monk. As such, she is able to steal the life energy of an enemy with her vampiric gaze and add it to her own, or heal a friend with her monk's discipline, or even resurrect a fallen comrade. This combination of healing prayers, death magic and blood magic makes her a disturbing yet powerful ally. You can see pictures of her, including my only photo of her darkskinned first incarnation, in the May 14th album above.... 07 May Minimum Computer Specs to play Guild WarsYour computer will need to have at least the following to play: Windows XP/2000/ME/98 Intel Pentium III or equivalent. 256 MB RAM. CD-ROM drive. 2 Gigabytes hard drive available space to load the game. ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce3 or 4MX series video card with 32 Megabytes RAM onboard. internet connection, faster is better. These are the minimum requirements just to play at all. With the minimum hardware components, your graphics will likely be blocky and movement through the will be game slow or jerky. It is best to have something more than minimum...
Having a more powerful video (graphics) card, a faster CPU, more RAM memory will enhance play, especially the better graphics card and increased RAM.

What shall I name her? 04 May Dirty dancingWhen I come back to Ascalon after a hard day of killing grawls, raging corpses and deadly cave spyders, I like nothing better than to down a pint of mead and dance in my undies with some strangers in the street. Messages from my keyboardist...(I'm not so sure there really is such a being)...say that there is something even better than dirty dancing, called sex. He says the software company didn't program a routine for sex in the game. That's what he says, but what are these things, "software", "routine", and "game"? What is sex?...and what does any of it have to do with being a ranger clearing the hills and forests of vermin? I only know I get a warm pleasant feeling in my nether regions when I dance unclothed.
